My daughter aged 8 and I had a fairytale ending to our holiday with Chris and the team. Highly professional crew who know what they are doing. My daughter was celebrating her birthday and the team went out of the way to make it a super special day. The photos and videos were really worth it. The team really knew what they was doing as the photos were taken at the right angle with the sun shining at the subject....for postcard worthy footage. Thank u once again! Will return soon

An amazing experience with a great bunch of enthusiastic, calm guides. I am scared of heights but from the excellent driving by Thomas, skillful take-off/flight/landing with Senae and John, i had an unforgettable morning. Just a suggestion- remember thst check in time is 30 mins prior to booking time so if driving up from Queenstown allow 1.5 hours (we were time limited by when our car rental opened, but Richard who cotacted us with details of the paraglising check in was very understanding)

I urgently booked the paragliding for my family this morning as it could be my last chance to do it in South Island due to unsatisfied weather in Queenstown a few days ago. There we go, we did it! What an exciting experience we had today. Pilot crew were extremely professional, friendly, patient, and helpful, they showed us the Pub Corner and took photos for us before we fly! My pilot Peter even let me pilot and we got so close to the fall. Awesome day to enjoy my flying with Tandem Paragliding Wanaka crews! Beautiful memory for me and my family. Strongly recommend to people who love adventures and flying! Will come back again🥰🥰🥰BTW, they took good photos and record lovely videos, don’t miss out!

If you are hesitating, just book it! And will never regret. You can really enjoy the scenic and the Valley view is stunning.

Everything You Need to Know
What Should I Bring for My Wanaka Paragliding Experience?

We’ll provide a helmet and gloves, but feel free to bring your own if preferred.

Footwear: Wear good shoes suitable for running during takeoff. Hiking boots with strong tread and ankle support are ideal, but sneakers or running shoes are fine unless there’s snow or ice on the takeoff site.

‍Clothing: Bring a jacket suitable for the season—something that protects against the wind is perfect.

‍Accessories: Sunglasses are highly recommended for eye protection.This will ensure you’re comfortable and fully prepared for a safe, enjoyable flight!

How Long is the Wanaka Paragliding Flight or Trip?

The entire experience takes around one hour, starting from when we meet you at the base of Treble Cone until we land back beside your car.

‍Average Flight Time: 10-20 minutes on average

‍Extended Flights: If we have strong thermals and good weather conditions, we can fly for longer! We’ll always aim to maximise your time in the air for the best experience possible.

Wanaka Paragliding Cancellation Policy – What You Need to Know

If you book and we cannot fly due to weather a full refund will be given or we'll try to reschedule your booking to the next good day if that's an option for you. We recommend you book early on during your stay to give yourself the most opportunity to fly.

Customers can contact us by email to info@wanakaparagliding.co.nz to receive a full refund with 48 hours notice of cancellation.

Are There Age or Weight Restrictions for Paragliding in Wanaka?

Yes. Our passenger weight limit is from 10kg to 120kg. Children under 18 require parental consent to fly and we have children's harnesses specially designed for kids.
